Ezra's Songs

Ezra's birthday is hurtling towards us, so I've been feeling really sentimental lately. He is growing up so fast, and I continue to be amazed as to how I got the most handsome, wonderful, perfect baby ever! I suppose all mothers feel that way, but regardless, I have been reflecting on the past year and listening to a lot of the same music I did during my pregnancy and Ezra's newborn days. Here are a few of my favorites. I will always associate these songs with this sweet little boy.

I credit this song with a lot. I first heard it after I found out we were having a boy and suddenly everything felt more real. I often grew nervous about the prospect of raising a boy, but whenever I felt this way all I had to do was turn on Paul Simon's Negotiations and Love Songs and everything felt better. This song, especially, made me feel close to the little baby inside me.

And of course no list would be complete without a video of Ezra dancing to one of his favorite songs. Whenever this song, or Bonanza, comes on he gets so excited my heart wants to burst.

I love this boy!

David Archuleta & The Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Julia and I attended this live when we were dating. Thank you for the free tickets Grandma Behra. The dancing and singing was very impressive. This was, indeed, a very classy performance. I recommend it and now you can watch it.

My sister E is working heading up advertising for an upcoming new BYU TV series called AUDIO-FILES. The series seems to revolve around some awesome national talent including Imagine Dragons (Interscope/KIDinaKORNER), Paper Route (Universal Motown), LOW (Sub Pop), and more.

Both of these runs simultaneously used this song. I actually think this is a coincidence and that it's really remarkable. If you don't know, the lead singer is Dan Reynolds--my cousin. And, I was lucky enough to be the booking agent for the band for nearly two years.

Continued Silence was produced by GRAMMY winning producer Alex Da Kid (Eminem, Rihanna, Paramore, U2) and mastered by Joe LaPorta (Vampire Weekend, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Tiesto). It was recorded at the historic Westlake Recording Studio which has hosted Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and countless others.

Imagine Dragons have won four back to back battles of the bands, released three other EPs, and performed with multiplatinum and rising indie stars including Weezer, JET, Blue October, Interpol, Foster The People, The Temper Trap, Neon Trees, O.A.R., and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.
